“Moulin Rouge!” star Nicole Kidman has opened up about her fear of returning to performing in front of a live audience after almost two decades.

“Well, I’m over here on this play and I’m terrified. Terrified and exhilarated because I’ve got to make this incredibly acerbic, prickly woman real and vulnerable,” she said in the Interview magazine’s October cover story.

The Oscar winner has returned to the West End, starring in “Photograph 51”, a play about Rosalind Franklin, the female scientist who contributed to the discovery of DNA.

“It’s a 95-minute play and I haven’t done that for 17 years. It’s a whole different ballgame,” she said.
